Algeria and Tamazight(Berber)Ledzyer,is a country in North Africa. It has a Mediterranean Sea coastline in the north and is surrounded by Morocco to the northwest, Tunisia to the northeast, Libya to the east, Niger to the southeast, Mali to the southwest, Mauritania and Western Sahara to the west. After the secession of South Sudan from Sudan, Algeria became the largest country in Africa. Recent Algerian history has been marred by civil wars. That said, Algeria is gradually restoring order and will prove an interesting — if difficult — destination.
Securing an Algeria visa for Nigerians is almost as challenging as securing a UK or American visa. Though, many would believe it is less challenging in obtaining an Algeria visa for Nigeria citizens with the tenet that it can be obtained with little or no stress considering that both Nigeria and Algeria are African Nations. A fact that may be stated and reiterated therefore is, asides the neighboring countries, securing a visa into any other country outside of West Africa can be very challenging. Such can be the case in securing a visa in the northern African Islamic country largely populated by majorly Arabic speaking Arabs, Algeria. Note that before applying for any of the Algeria Visa, there is need to provide the following required information below:

When you apply you need to provide:
Filled out and signed Algeria tourist visa application form
Original, signed Nigeria passport with at least 6 months of remaining validity.
Passport-type photographs: 3
Visa application form. Visa application form filled out in detail (block letters) and signed by the applicant.
Itinerary i.e. Copy of round trip tickets or confirmed itinerary.
Hotel Reservations. Original Hotel Reservations from any hotel in the Algeria covering the entire duration of the stay. Or/and
Letter of Invitation. If staying with friends or family, a letter of invitation from the host in Algeria, can be used instead of the hotel reservation. The letter should be addressed to the Embassy of Algeria, Visa Section and should state the relationship to the applicant, the dates of the visit, and the address and phone number where you will be staying.
A standard Algerian tourist visa for Nigerians cost about 160usd to apply per applicant. Other surcharge may be applicable at the embassy as the case may be.
You can apply from 15 days to 1 month before your schedule. It often takes about 7 to 10 days to process your visa especially if you are the type of person that travels regularly.
You must apply for your visa no more than 6 months after you receive the invitation letter.
You will also need to show evidence of good English language
You might be very lucky as well if you know how to speak Arabic
Visa applicants must submit an itinerary of their airline travel and a confirmed Hotel reservation in Algeria.
Family / Guest Visa: Applicants must provide with their application an invitation from their host in Algeria and notarized at the city hall of the place of residence of the Algerian host. The Embassy will not accept invitations faxed or sent separately.
Spouses of Algerian Citizens should submit a copy of the valid Consulate Registration Card of their spouse and a sponsorship letter signed by the Algerian spouse.
Return of Passports: Applicants may pick up their passports at the Embassy or send a prepaid self-addressed envelope. The Embassy is not responsible for the lost or delays of document by the post office or other visa services.
- Complete documentation is required. Any incomplete documentation may extend the processing time or returned to applicant at cost.
- Processing of an application may be delayed, if prior agreement by Algerian authorities is required. Furthermore, the Embassy reserves the right to request additional documentation from any applicant. It is not the responsibility of the Embassy if there is any delay in the processing of the visa application.
- Permission should be sought from Dan prior to Travel - Applicants should make travel arrangements to Algeria based on the date of entry indicated on their visa. Applicants should not arrive in Algeria before that date; they will not be allowed to enter. In case of change in travel plans, applicants must obtain a new visa.
